Ireland

The Republic of Ireland, nicknamed the "Emerald Isle" for its lush green landscape, occupies most of the island of Ireland, off the coasts of England and Wales. Its capital, Dublin, is the birthplace of famous writers like Oscar Wilde and bands like U2 and is also home to Guinness beer. The Book of Kells (9th century) and other illustrated manuscripts are on display in the library of Trinity College, Dublin. It has sites such as Cahir Castle, built in the Middle Ages. With a Celtic and Viking past, it is undoubtedly a country to visit.
