It's always Today, Gustavo!

“A Million Light Years with You”

Hoy comparto este texto que escribí en 2011. Un homenaje a Gustavo Cerati en su cumpleaños. Recuerdos, poesía y guiños a sus canciones que celebran su música, su luz y su legado eterno.

Your words lift the spirits, excite, bring back memories. Your words accompany sadness and pain. They give hope, joy, happiness. Your words reflect hate, love, passion. Each verse and each phrase makes one feel humble and arrogant at the same time. They seduce and enchant, it is a hypnotic trip, a game of seduction, an immoral ride.

With your music, from the city of fury to a lake in the sky, you fill voids, it is a rapture of unconsciousness and you achieve impossible things. Each melody, each song is a fantasy, a breath of air, they echo in the darkness. A zoom of harmony, a constant deja vu, are the exception that is always made.

I know you from another life and I have the strange feeling that you do not belong to this world, since you have the art of living above the abyss... like on a bridge. You are like a tree that takes root, is reborn again and again and that is a sign that you are alive.

Your love is yellow, you are the sun and your light does not stop pulsing!! The hours go down, said Spinetta, I would like time to last forever, a million light years if possible, but you already said it, God is bipolar.

Maybe there is no artifact that is visionary. Your telltale heart says that lasting is better than burning, that's why I'm not leaving, I'm staying here.

With a natural strength, you told us “being able to say goodbye is growing.” Now spring is approaching, the sun is no longer setting and we will be waiting for you here when the tremor passes, because it is always today!!
